The present book is dedicated to the question of the need to reduce the overall energy consumption as well as to increase the renewable share in the consumed electricity. Solar energy has the potential to supply enough electricity to match the energy consumption, its biggest challenge lies in overcoming its great dependence on the weather. To avoid these supply problems, the incorporation of an energy storage system that allows the production of electricity, independently of the availability of the solar resource, is being studied from different fronts in this research.
