Born in Germany, Lassal spent the better part of her childhood in Brazil, where she had her first encounters with fairy tales, myths and legends not only from Europe, but also with the poetic and beautiful stories of the indigenous population in South America and the strong and intense tales that found their way to Brazil from Africa.
