Beschreibung

Zinc-based alloys have emerged as a potential material system to substitute the cast irons as well as various non- ferrous alloys in the mentioned category of applications involving especially sliding wear conditions on a cost-economic basis. The book presents the sliding wear response of a zinc-based alloy reinforced with SiC particles over a range of applied load, sliding velocities, and test environments. The wear response of the matrix alloy and the composite was compared with that of conventional grey cast iron. Through such through investigation, herein we have successfully shown that the better endure efficiency of our developed of zinc-based composites over the conventional zinc-based alloy and cast iron in the sliding wear applications.
