Land is one of the biggest attributes of the Environment whose relevancy can never be underestimated. Land provides global environmental benefits, its role in the global geochemical (nutrient) cycles, filtering of water and pollutants, source and sink functions for greenhouse gases are the cases in point. However, in spite of all this, land degradation is taking place at a very terrible rate mostly in developing countries for example; Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania etc. Economic growth has been obtained by degrading the natural resource base and this is no longer acceptable and it is increasingly being acknowledged that land as a whole is a basic factor in global life support systems. Further, it has an intrinsic value far beyond agricultural production. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of land use activities on the environment in Ntenjeru parish, Kayunga District and the specific objectives were to identify the major land use activities in Ntenjeru parish, Kayunga District, to assess the impact of land use activities on the environment in Ntenjeru parish, Kayunga District and to identify strategies for coping with land use change impacts
