Beschreibung

Poor mans cows - the Goats significantly contribute to the agrarian economy and play a vital role in the livelihood security of the small and marginal farmers. Goat husbandry was highly affected in its productivity due to the threat of bio-security. Animals often get infected with a number of ecto-parasites, which cause major economic losses in production and health status of animals. The infected animals exhibit poor growth, weight loss, decreased milk production and mortality. Hence, the control of ecto-parasitic infection is of utmost importance due to their ill effects on the small ruminants profitability and health status. To counter these menaces, chemical ectoparasitcides are used. Usage of these parasiticides results in toxic manifestation in animals, concern over human safety, environmental hazards and the development of resistance by the parasites. As such, there is a need to identify a herbal formulation which can combat both these issues of resistance and public health hazard.
