Their origins, distribution, characteristics and the character of the wine or table grapes are all discussed. Dr. Hans Ambrosi, Hallgarten, war viele Jahre lang Direktor der Hessischen Staatsweingüter Kloster Eberbach. Er ist durch zahlreiche Bücher zum Thema Wein bekannt geworden. Das Fachgebiet von Prof. Dr. Ernst H. Rühl ist die Rebenzüchtung und Rebenveredlung. Er ist an der Forschungsanstalt Geisenheim beschäftigt. Joachim Schmid ist an der Forschungsanstalt Geisenheim tätig. Dr. Fritz Schumann, seit vielen Jahren an der SLFA Neustadt tätig, ist Fachbereichsleiter Weinbau mit Betreuung der Rebsortimente und Leiter des Römischen Weingutes Weilberg in Ungstein.
