We embarked on the adventure of our very first publication in spring 2017. The day we first held our collection of 50 lakes in and around Berlin in our hands, we knew that the story would continue to unravelour discovery of holiday homes, hotels, and farmhouses on their shores had captivated us along the way. For this current publication we ventured even further from Berlins borders, crossing the fields of southern Brandenburg, to explore landscapes reaching as far as the Baltic Sea. In our quest, we stumbled across hidden lakes, tasted freshly baked fruit cakes, wandered down dirt roads in seemingly untouched nature, and took naps under the shade of chestnut trees. On countless mornings we set out for the day, only to realise by late afternoon that we would never make it home before nightfall. And so, once again, our day trips turned into weekend escapes. The Gentle Temper is a Berlin-based independent publishing house founded in 2016 by Karolina Rosina and Nils Kraiczy. Passionate about the great outdoors, the duo embarked on a mission to positively impact people's relationship with the environment. They have their hearts set on applying the respective skill-sets to make an invaluable cultural contribution.
